The Mission of Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited is to provide quality water and sanitation services to customers in Lusaka Province using commercially and environmentally sustainable strategies. In order to achieve this, the Company must have a human capital currency comprised of dynamic and energetic staff who are performance driven and who possess the requisite competencies to deliver on expected targets. As part of our efforts to achieve this, the Company is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced Zambians for Five vacant positions of Artisan Mechanical Fitter, on a permanent and pensionable contract basis.

1. Job Purpose 

The job-holder reports to the Superintendent- Mechanical and is responsible for coordinating maintenance and repairs of mechanical plant and equipment to ensure maximum availability and efficiency of operations.

1.  Key Responsibilities

1. Carrying out preventive maintenance jobs according to preventive maintenance check lists, instructions and applicable work procedures.
2. Identifying and diagnosing broken down operating equipment and drawing lists of requirements.
3. Identifying and diagnosing equipment with planned repairs and draw lists of requirements.
4. Carrying out planned repairs according to applicable standard work procedures and schedule.
5. Carrying out all none break down jobs within working hours and scheduled over times.
6. Swift and timely identification of probable risk issues in your area of operation, and ensuring that these are attended to or escalated as required.
7. Timely preparation and submission of comprehensive reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, or as required.

1. Qualifications and Experience

1. Grade 12 School Certificate or General Certificate of Education
2. Craft Certificate in Sheet Metal Fabrication or its equivalent from a recognized University/ Institution.
3. One (1) years’ relevant experience.
4. Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ).
5. Knowledge of plant operations, sewer networks, water supply and Sanitation.
