POSITION 1      :    Senior Engineer Mechanical x 1  

REPORTS TO      :   Manager Maintenance    

Job Purpose 

Planning, coordinating and implementing all mechanical maintenance and repair activities in order to ensure maximum availability of plant and equipment that efficiently and economically support company operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develop and monitor mechanical maintenance plans to maximise plant and equipment availability.
2. Reads and interprets blueprints, specifications, and diagrams. Assists with evaluation of engineering designs for new construction and makes recommendations as appropriate.
3. Supervise and coordinate mechanical maintenance activities.
4. Analyse mechanical plant performance data and reports to resolve recurring problems in order to improve plant reliability.
5. Supervise contracted mechanical maintenance works to ensure contractors are up to standard and complete tasks in time.
6. Carry out periodic work site inspections to determine adherence to project objectives, work standards and safety practices, rectify the deficiencies identified and recommend areas needing improvements in the performance of projects.
7. Prepare engineering reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing data and trends for the performance of sewer and sanitation systems.
8. Provide technical advice in Mechanical plant and equipment to ensure improved availability and reliability.
9. Prepare and submit comprehensive technical report pertaining to mechanical maintenance and repairs reports on a monthly basis.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Bachelor`s Degree in Electro-mechanical /Mechanical or its Equivalent
2. Five (5) years post qualification experience.
3. Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia
4. Registered Engineer – Engineers Registration Board
